The Athletics have placed infielder Zack Gelof on the 10-day injured list due to a contusion on his right hand, retroactive to June 24. Gelof sustained the injury while attempting to tag out San Francisco’s Matt Chapman in the second inning of Tuesday's game. He had a hitting streak of 24 games, tied for the seventh longest in franchise history, and will be replaced by Alika Williams, recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas. Gelof was batting.282 this season, with 11 home runs.
