Atlanta Braves activate Reynaldo Lopez and place Bryce Elder on injured list

The Atlanta Braves announced several roster changes Tuesday aimed at addressing recent performance struggles. Right-handed pitcher Reynaldo Lopez has been activated from the 15-day injured list following a brief rehab assignment. Lopez holds a 3.64 ERA with 66 strikeouts in 24 appearances this season. To create space on the roster, the team optioned right-hander Elieser Hernandez to the minor leagues. Additionally, Bryce Elder was placed on the 15-day injured list, backdated to September 6, after undergoing surgery on his right knee. Left-hander Bailey Falter was also added to the active roster to bolster pitching depth as the team attempts to improve its standing in the National League.
