Atlanta Braves manager Walt Weiss announced that pitcher Bryce Elder underwent arthroscopic right knee surgery in Dallas on Tuesday. Elder had been managing the injury for nearly two months before the procedure. Recovery is expected to take three to four weeks, keeping the right-hander sidelined for the remainder of the regular season. While Elder will miss the final 20 games of the campaign, team officials expressed hope that he may return for the postseason in either a starting or relief role.
