The Atlanta Braves have released infielder Jorge Mateo after their recent series against the New York Yankees. Mateo was designated for assignment last week to make room on the roster for Ha-Seong Kim's activation from the injured list. During his time with the Braves, Mateo appeared in 65 games, posting a.240 batting average, four home runs, and 11 RBI. His release follows a lengthy DFA process and leaves him as a free agent, likely to find opportunities elsewhere as he seeks to continue his MLB career.

- •He played 65 games and hit four home runs in 2026.
- •The Braves finalized his release after a series with the Yankees.
- •Mateo will hit free agency as the Braves activate Ha-Seong Kim.
