Atlanta Braves trade for Bailey Falter from Kansas City Royals

The Atlanta Braves have acquired pitcher Bailey Falter from the Kansas City Royals as part of a four-player trade. The deal, completed just before the trade deadline, also includes outfielder Lane Thomas, while the Royals receive minor league pitcher Lucas Braun and left-hander Carter Holton. Falter, who previously played for the Philadelphia Phillies, provides the Braves with additional organizational pitching depth. His most productive season was in 2022 with the Phillies, posting a 3.86 ERA. He has struggled in 2023, recording a 13.97 ERA in five outings before the trade, and will report to Triple-A Gwinnett for potential roster evaluation.
