Atlanta Falcons release offensive tackle Wanya Morris after preseason

The Atlanta Falcons have released offensive tackle Wanya Morris as part of the team's mandatory roster adjustments. The move arrives shortly before the start of the regular season, following a preseason period where Morris did not meet the performance expectations set by the coaching staff. Atlanta initially acquired Morris in a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs earlier this summer, sending a 2027 sixth-round draft pick to Kansas City in exchange for the player and a 2027 seventh-round selection. The acquisition was intended to provide depth at the position following the retirement of Kaleb McGary in April. Morris was entering the final year of a $5 million rookie contract at the time of his release.
