The Atlanta Falcons added rookie interior lineman Josh Thompson to the practice squad on Monday, filling one of the team's two vacancies. Thompson, who played his final college season at LSU after transferring from Northwestern, previously signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent. Measuring 6-foot-5 and 310 pounds, he is noted for his balance and leg drive in gap blocking schemes. The move follows the promotion of linebacker Josh Woods to the active 53-man roster. Woods was elevated to replace linebacker JD Bertrand, who was moved to the injured reserve list. The Falcons currently have 15 players on the practice squad and maintain one open position on the roster.
