Atlanta United enters 2027 U.S. Open Cup in the round of 64

Atlanta United will begin competition in the 2027 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup during the tournament’s round of 64. The 112th edition of the event features a revamped schedule that aligns with the MLS transition to a summer-to-spring calendar, with the opening round set for July 8 through July 11, 2027. All 27 MLS clubs will enter at this stage to avoid scheduling conflicts during the winter months. Matchday rosters have been expanded to 20 players to accommodate a mix of first-team starters and academy prospects. The tournament continues through the fall, with the final match currently scheduled for December 15, 2027. Winning the title provides the club with qualification for the Concacaf Champions Cup.
