Atletico Madrid is reportedly willing to reduce Julian Alvarez's €500 million release clause if he scores at least 20 goals this season. Alvarez had sought a move to Barcelona but remained at Atletico after the transfer failed. The striker has featured in three matches so far this season. While Barcelona has made a strong start, they might still need Alvarez's services if injury strikes their current attacking line.
- •Alvarez was a top target for Barcelona last summer.
- •The release clause prevented his transfer to Barcelona.
- •Atletico Madrid's president stated the clause could be reduced with conditions.
- •Alvarez has already played three matches this season.
