Atlético Madrid plans FIFA complaint against Barcelona for Álvarez approach

Summary

Atlético Madrid CEO Miguel Ángel Gil Marín announced plans to file a complaint with FIFA against Barcelona. Atlético alleges that Barcelona made an improper approach for Julián Álvarez, who is under contract until 2030, without authorization during the protected transfer period. The situation escalated after Álvarez expressed his desire to leave Atlético following Argentina's World Cup victory over Austria. Gil Marín emphasized that the club will pursue the complaint, although the filing has yet to be confirmed.
