Atlético-MG aims for Copa Libertadores qualification in 2027

Atlético-MG has outlined its goal to qualify for the 2027 Copa Libertadores after missing out on the competition for two consecutive years. Pedro Daniel, CEO of Atlético’s SAF, confirmed their commitment to returning to a competitive status within Brazilian football. The team is currently in 9th place in the Brazilian Championship, five points behind the 5th spot that secures a Libertadores qualifying position. Additionally, Atlético is in the round of 16 for both the Copa do Brasil and Copa Sudamericana. The squad is taking advantage of a 40-day break due to the World Cup to prepare for the second half of the season, with training resuming on June 22.
