Auburn utilizes NIL to enhance international recruiting efforts

Auburn basketball's head coach Steven Pearl emphasized the significance of NIL in recruiting international players during a recent discussion in Huntsville, Alabama. He pointed out that college athletes now have the opportunity to earn more than many professional players abroad, encouraging them to consider college over overseas options. The 2025-26 season saw the arrival of Filip Jovic from Bosnia and Herzegovina, who contributed in the National Invitational Tournament. However, Jovic has entered the transfer portal to join UCLA. Looking ahead to the 2026-27 season, Auburn has added French center Narcisse Ngoy, who excelled in the Elite 2 League, to bolster their roster.
