Audi files intention to appeal Yuki Tsunoda grid ruling at Italian GP

Audi has formally notified the FIA of its intention to appeal the stewards' decision regarding Yuki Tsunoda's conduct during the Italian Grand Prix. The dispute centers on an aborted start procedure where Tsunoda was positioned incorrectly on the grid following a red flag. While the race director ordered an extra formation lap as a precautionary measure, the stewards determined no penalty was warranted for the Racing Bulls driver, who finished in 10th place. Audi contends that the incident violated Article B5.9.4, which the team argues requires a driver responsible for an extra formation lap to start from the pit lane. Tsunoda stated he believed he did not gain an advantage from the positioning error. To advance the case, Audi must now officially file an appeal and present new evidence to justify reopening the hearing.
