Austin-area volleyball playoff results and upcoming matches for Friday

The UIL volleyball playoffs commenced with several Austin-area teams competing on Thursday. Class 6A DI saw Rouse defeating Bridgeland, 3-1, and Houston Cypress Ranch advancing by beating Vista Ridge, 3-0. In Class 6A DII, Dripping Springs edged Stony Point, 3-2. For Class 5A DI, both Liberty Hill and Georgetown secured wins over Crandall and McCallum, respectively, with identical 3-0 scores, while Weiss also won in DII against Ann Richards. Moving forward, notable matchups are scheduled for Friday, including Lake Travis facing Johnson and Round Rock taking on Bowie in Class 6A DI.
