Austin FC acquired defender Chris Applewhite on loan from Nashville SC on Wednesday. The agreement for the 19-year-old US youth international runs through June 2027 and includes a purchase option. Nashville receives $50,000 in 2026 General Allocation Money as part of the transaction. Applewhite, a homegrown player who joined Nashville in 2025, has made five appearances in league play. He recently served as captain for the United States at the 2026 Concacaf U-20 Championship, helping the team qualify for the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
