Ava Guilmette secures 16U wrestling title at Fargo Nationals

Ava Guilmette of Shenendehowa clinched the 155-pound title in the 16U girls' freestyle division at the U.S. Marine Corps Junior Nationals in Fargo, North Dakota, earlier this month. Guilmette, a rising junior, won all seven of her matches, including an 11-2 decision over Pennsylvania's Camilla Hathaway in the championship bout. This victory marked a significant turnaround after she lost to Hathaway in their previous encounter at a national tournament in April 2025. Guilmette's performance included five pins, four of which occurred within 50 seconds, further showcasing her skill and adaptability. She added this title to her impressive resume, which features multiple state championships and a Pan-American title.
