Ayao Komatsu refutes Guenther Steiner claims regarding Gene Haas F1 commitment

Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu has countered recent comments from former boss Guenther Steiner suggesting that Gene Haas has lost interest in Formula 1. Steiner, who departed the team in 2024, claimed on a podcast that the relationship between him and the team owner deteriorated as the team's performance fluctuated. Komatsu rejected the assertion, citing the increased presence of Gene Haas at race weekends throughout the 2026 season. According to Komatsu, the owner has attended almost every European race this year and maintains an active, passionate role in team operations. The current team principal noted that while Gene Haas maintains high expectations and can become frustrated by performance results, his engagement remains higher than at any point in the past. Gene Haas is scheduled to attend the upcoming Italian GP at Monza.
