Babacar Sane prepares for key role with St. John's men's basketball

Babacar Sane has signed with St. John's men's basketball, joining under coach Rick Pitino. Sane, a 6-foot-8 forward with a 7-foot-2.5 wingspan, aims to make an impact after playing with G League Ignite and Dakar Université Club. His athleticism and transition skills are expected to fit well in Pitino's offense. A significant question for the team is Sane's potential minutes on the court, which could affect his scoring output this season. He showed promise in previous competitions, averaging 13.3 points and 7.7 rebounds during the 2023 FIBA Intercontinental Cup.
