Baker Mayfield has expressed a desire to remain with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as he enters the final year of his contract. Mayfield has set a deadline for contract talks to conclude before training camp begins, stating that negotiations will cease if no agreement is reached by then. Although general manager Jason Licht and head coach Todd Bowles have expressed interest in a long-term deal, discussions have reportedly not progressed since early June. Mayfield is currently the 16th-highest-paid quarterback in the league, earning an average of $33 million annually.
