Baller League ends Sky Sports broadcast contract, moves to online platforms

Baller League, the six-a-side soccer tournament, will no longer be broadcast on Sky Sports, effective immediately. The league is shifting its focus to platforms like YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok, as its audience primarily engages online. Baller League UK's second season drew about 9.1 million YouTube livestreams, with the subsequent third season increasing to around 12 million. Chief executive Felix Starck clarified that Sky was not central to their strategy and claimed their audience is better reached through direct channels. The partnership with Sky Sports ended naturally, with the channel reportedly satisfied with audience engagement metrics.
