Barcelona announces Al Ahly as Joan Gamper Trophy opponent
Summary

FC Barcelona has confirmed that Al Ahly will be their opponent for the 61st edition of the Joan Gamper Trophy, scheduled for 19 August at 20:00 at Spotify Camp Nou. Al Ahly will be the first African club to participate in this annual event. The matchup follows a strengthening relationship between the two clubs, highlighted by the transfer of Hamza Abdelkarim to Barcelona. Al Ahly's involvement in the prestigious preseason match marks a notable milestone, as it builds upon previous friendly encounters between the two clubs in 2007 and 2009, both victories for Barcelona. Fans can watch the match and team presentation live on Barça Play and YouTube Premium.
