Barcelona begins contract negotiations with three teenage prospects

Following the conclusion of the summer transfer window, FC Barcelona has shifted its focus to securing the long-term future of three young players. Sporting director Deco is prioritizing contract renewals for Marc Bernal, Hamza Abdelkarim, and Xavi Espart. Discussions have already commenced with the camp representing Bernal to extend his current deal by two years and adjust his financial terms. The club is also working to increase the release clause for Abdelkarim to €150 million, as his current €15 million valuation no longer reflects his development. Additionally, the front office intends to improve terms for Xavi Espart, who has emerged as a key option at left-back during the preseason and early matches. Barcelona deliberately avoided these discussions until the transfer market closed to prioritize other operations.
