Barcelona have canceled a planned pre-season friendly against IR Tangier scheduled for August 15 in Morocco due to the ongoing migrant crisis in Ceuta. The Spanish enclave has seen approximately 78,000 migrants cross from Morocco, resulting in significant humanitarian concerns. The club's decision follows a broader diplomatic dispute between Morocco and Spain regarding the region's status. The match cancellation further limits Barcelona's already brief pre-season, as a prior closed-door game against Preston North End was also called off due to player availability issues. Barcelona's title defense begins against Elche on August 23.
