Barcelona confirms Iker Rodríguez as third-choice goalkeeper for 2026/27 season

Summary

FC Barcelona has selected Iker Rodríguez as their third-choice goalkeeper ahead of the 2026/27 season. The decision follows a competitive summer for the goalkeeping position, with veterans like Inaki Pena and Ander Astralaga departing the club. Rodríguez, an 18-year-old Spain U-18 international, has impressed coaches during pre-season training, leading to his advancement over other candidates. The club managed a significant turnover in goalkeepers this period, and while Eder Aller remains a potential contender, Rodríguez's recent experience with the first-team staff positions him favorably for the role.
