Barcelona fails to offload Marc Casado after reducing transfer asking price

Barcelona management attempted to sell midfielder Marc Casado throughout the summer transfer window to generate funds. The club initially sought a higher fee but lowered their asking price by 50% to €20 million in an effort to facilitate a permanent move. Negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen reached an advanced stage, but the German club withdrew from the deal after failing to secure a transfer for Robert Andrich. As a result, the transfer did not proceed as planned. Casado instead signed a loan deal with Deportivo La Coruna on deadline day. The 22-year-old midfielder remains under contract with Barcelona through 2027.
