Barcelona frustrated with Frenkie de Jong's World Cup conduct

Summary

Barcelona's board is unhappy with midfielder Frenkie de Jong due to his recent behavior at the World Cup. Following his return for medical checks, De Jong was diagnosed with a serious knee injury, expected to sideline him for several months. Reports indicate Barcelona executives were displeased with how he managed his fitness, opting to prioritize World Cup readiness over avoiding injury in the closing stages of the previous season. As De Jong recovers, midfielder Marc Bernal is anticipated to gain more playing time during the forthcoming season.
