Barcelona midfielder Xavi Espart draws attention from Spanish national team coaches

Barcelona youngster Xavi Espart has emerged as a target for the Spanish national team after a strong start to the season. The 19-year-old has played every minute of the club's first three league matches, operating as both a left-back and a central midfielder. Spanish national team manager Luis de la Fuente is monitoring the progress of the midfielder, who is also a key figure for David Gordo’s Under-21 squad. The Spanish Under-21 side currently leads its 2027 European Championship qualifying group with seven wins from seven matches. Spain faces upcoming fixtures against Finland, San Marino, and Romania during the international break. These qualifiers are critical as the top three finishers in the tournament qualify for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
