Barcelona prepares to sell Alejandro Balde to fund defensive signing

Barcelona is looking to strengthen its defense in January amid injuries to multiple players. Manager Hansi Flick has identified 23-year-old Alejandro Balde as the candidate for sale, having not started a game this season. Balde's inability to secure playing time, combined with Barcelona's financial constraints, could prompt a decision to offload him for funding a new defender. Flick has expressed dissatisfaction with Balde's current performance and training, leading to limited opportunities. Balde, however, is reportedly hesitant to leave the club despite a lack of minutes on the pitch, particularly with established players in his position. The club aims to avoid hasty decisions regarding his future as they explore reinforcing the squad.
