Barcelona rejected Manchester United loan interest for defender Alejandro Balde

Barcelona maintained their firm stance on Alejandro Balde this summer, refusing to consider a loan move for the defender. Despite interest from Manchester United, the Spanish club only entertained potential permanent transfer offers, which the English side could not facilitate financially. Alejandro Balde has seen his playing time reduced under Hansi Flick as Xavi Espart has emerged as the primary choice at left-back, appearing in every league match so far this season. Joao Cancelo has also rotated into the position during Champions League competition. Although the 22-year-old remains a part of the club’s future plans, Hansi Flick has challenged him to improve his performance in training to earn his spot back in the rotation. The team has maintained a perfect start to the 2026-27 campaign with five consecutive victories across all competitions.
