Barcelona seeks Lautaro Martínez as backup option to Julián Álvarez
Summary

Barcelona is reportedly considering Lautaro Martínez as an alternative if they cannot secure Julián Álvarez. Despite Álvarez being their primary target, complex negotiations with Atlético Madrid have prompted Barcelona to explore other options. Martínez, Inter's captain under contract until 2029, is seen as a suitable fit due to his goal-scoring ability and playmaking skills. However, moving for Martínez is complicated by his commitment to Inter and the significant fee expected. Such speculation has surfaced before but has yet to develop into serious talks.
