Barcelona shows interest in Aymeric Laporte amid Real Madrid links

Summary

Real Madrid is reportedly considering Aymeric Laporte as a potential signing this summer under Jose Mourinho’s management. However, Athletic Club has set a substantial asking price of €80 million for the defender. Although Real Madrid has been mentioned as admirers, significant interest has emerged from Barcelona, with Deco making inquiries about Laporte. The defender's strong performance during the World Cup has increased his market value, but Athletic Club is unwilling to negotiate below the release clause amount. Discussions between Barcelona and Athletic have been noted to be firm, reflecting the latter's reputation for stubbornness in player transfers.
