Bare-knuckle fighting remains sanctioned in New Mexico amid promoter absence

Summary

During the August New Mexico Athletic Commission meeting, bare-knuckle fighting was not discussed, indicating it remains a sanctioned sport in the state. NMAC chairman Ed Manzanares confirmed that rules governing bare-knuckle fighting have not changed. Concern over proposed fee increases for fighters and officials delayed further discussion of related rules. The last sanctioned professional bare-knuckle event in New Mexico occurred on June 6, 2025, and no future events are currently scheduled as promoters await regulatory changes. The commission had previously tabled discussions on fee increases after public objections.
