Louis Barré won the first stage of the Tour of Germany on Thursday, taking the lead from Isaac del Toro, who was favored to win. Barré's victory on the 215-kilometre route from Bad Orb to Schwäbisch Hall marks his first full stage win of the event. Though Del Toro, who triumphed in Wednesday's prologue, finished in second place, he is currently only nine seconds behind Barré overall. The next stage will feature a 197-kilometre route from Schwäbisch Hall to Offenbach an der Queich tailored for sprinters.
