Shoaib Bashir has been named in England's 12-man squad for the first Test against New Zealand at Lord's, set to take place Thursday. This marks Bashir's return after missing the Ashes series due to England's preference for conditions over his capabilities. The 22-year-old spinner, who last played for England against India in July, is expected to feature in the starting XI. England's bowling lineup remains uncertain as uncapped Sonny Baker is vying for a spot in the team alongside Gus Atkinson. Other notable inclusions are Ben Stokes, Joe Root, and a Test debut for opener Emilio Gay, as England aims to clarify its pace attack amid changing pitch conditions.
