Bath to relocate home games during Rec redevelopment phase

Bath will play their last two home matches of the 2026/27 Premiership Rugby season at an alternative venue as redevelopment begins at the Recreation Ground. Planning permission was granted in September 2025 for an expansion that increases capacity to 18,000. Construction timelines have been adjusted, with completion now projected for the start of the 2028/29 season. The phased development will see Bath face Harlequins and Saracens at a temporary venue, which may also serve for playoff games if the team ranks in the top two. Chief executive Tarquin McDonald has indicated that discussions about the alternative host sites are ongoing, emphasizing a focus on minimizing disruptions for fans.
