Bayada Regatta rowing race returns to Cooper River Park in September

The annual Bayada Regatta is scheduled to take place on September 27 at the Camden County Boathouse in Pennsauken. Running from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the event features rowing competitions for athletes with disabilities, including singles, doubles, and sweeps with four para-rowers and a coxswain. Participants range from beginners to Paralympians who utilize adaptive boat equipment to navigate the course. Carlos Santory, a local firefighter and adaptive rower, is expected to compete in this year’s event using a prosthetic limb. Founded in 1981 by Philadelphia Adapted Rowing, the event has been sponsored by Bayada Home Healthcare since 1983. Spectator attendance and parking for the races at Cooper River Park are free of charge.
