Bayside, Cocoa Beach, Calvary Chapel secure wins in SSAA openers

Bayside High football opened its season with a 6-0 victory over Crescent City on August 14. Senior quarterback Joey Costa scored the decisive touchdown on a 1-yard run during a 16-play drive. The Bears' defense shined, forcing six turnovers, including two interceptions and four fumble recoveries. Calvary Chapel had a strong showing, defeating Cornerstone Academy 32-6, led by sophomore Chace Evans and senior Caleb Dillard each contributing multiple touchdowns. Cocoa Beach was also victorious, defeating Melbourne 47-16 after leading by a substantial margin. All teams begin their seasons positively, with upcoming games set for August 21.
