Bears cornerbacks Jaylon Johnson and Tyrique Stevenson return to practice

Chicago Bears starting cornerbacks Jaylon Johnson and Tyrique Stevenson participated fully in Wednesday's practice session. Both players had been sidelined since sustaining injuries during a joint practice with the Tennessee Titans on August 27. Johnson previously dealt with an elbow issue while Stevenson managed a leg injury, forcing head coach Ben Johnson to label them day-to-day earlier this week. Their return to the field comes just over a week before the team opens its season against the Carolina Panthers. The secondary has faced significant roster challenges throughout the summer, including a season-ending knee injury to safety Coby Bryant and a calf issue that kept cornerback Kyler Gordon out of training camp. Defensive coordinator Dennis Allen noted that he has seen progress from Johnson recently, emphasizing the importance of his leadership and performance level for the defense heading into the regular season.
