Bears sign Marlen Sewell, place Jonathan Garvin on injured reserve

The Bears announced roster changes on August 4, signing defensive back Marlen Sewell. Sewell, an undrafted player from Vanderbilt, fills the roster spot of defensive lineman Jonathan Garvin, who has been placed on injured reserve. Garvin has not played a game over the last three seasons after appearing in 38 games for the Packers from 2020 to 2022. The Bears are looking to bolster their defensive lineup as the season approaches.
