The Bears had previously stalled on a stadium proposal in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Hammond Mayor Thomas McDermott Jr. highlighted the bipartisan cooperation that has facilitated progress. Illinois Governor JB Pritzker noted that while there have been offers for infrastructure support, the Bears must move the negotiation forward for any potential special sessions to address stadium plans in Illinois. The Bears have remained quiet on the topic since a board vote last month to advance efforts on the Hammond project.
