Beaver Valley teams compete in PIAA spring sports playoffs today

Seven Beaver Valley teams participate in the PIAA spring sports playoffs today across baseball, softball, and girls lacrosse. Notable matchups include Riverside facing Fairview at Mercyhurst University at 1:30 p.m. and Western Beaver against West Middlesex at 2 p.m. Ellwood City, the WPIAL champion in baseball, aims for its second state title. Other games include Blackhawk against Punxsutawney at 4 p.m. and Ellwood City versus Westmont Hilltop in softball at the same time. The playoff games will continue tomorrow with additional contests in lacrosse.
