Bedingham leads Durham to 129-3 on day one at Northamptonshire

David Bedingham finished the opening day at Wantage Road unbeaten on 57 as Durham reached 129-3 against Northamptonshire. The visitors elected to bat first but faced an early setback when Luke Procter dismissed Ben McKinney and a direct hit from James Sales ran out Will Rhodes, leaving Durham at 16-2. Bedingham and skipper Alex Lees stabilized the innings with a 59-run partnership before Yuzi Chahal trapped Lees lbw. Play was restricted to 30.5 overs due to adverse weather and poor light throughout the day. Mayank Agarwal, making his debut for Durham, remains at the crease alongside Bedingham on 25 not out. The County Championship Division Two match remains in progress.
