Ben Shelton advances to his first major final at the US Open

The No. 8-seeded player maintains his momentum following a quarterfinal win over defending champion Carlos Alcaraz, which concluded early Wednesday morning. This result puts Shelton in position to compete for the US Open title this coming Sunday. He is scheduled to face No. 1 seed Alexander Zverev in the championship round. A victory would mark the first time a man from the host nation has claimed a major title since Andy Roddick achieved the feat at the 2003 US Open.
