Ben Shelton advances to U.S. Open final against Alexander Zverev

Ben Shelton secured a spot in his first major final after defeating Frances Tiafoe in the U.S. Open semifinals. The 23-year-old will face top-seeded Alexander Zverev in the championship match scheduled for Sunday. Shelton, currently the No. 8 seed, previously played collegiate tennis for the University of Florida under the coaching of his father, Bryan Shelton. His mother, Lisa Shelton, is part of the Witsken family of Carmel, Indiana, which produced multiple IHSAA tennis champions. Outside of his professional career, Shelton is in a relationship with professional soccer player Trinity Rodman.
