Ben Shelton and Frances Tiafoe prepare for U.S. Open semifinal match
Summary

Americans Ben Shelton and Frances Tiafoe are scheduled to meet in a U.S. Open semifinal match on Friday night in New York. The winner of this contest earns a spot in the tournament championship against Alexander Zverev, who advanced after defeating Karen Khachanov in straight sets. Shelton reached this stage following a five-set quarterfinal victory over Carlos Alcaraz. Tiafoe secured his semifinal appearance by recovering from a two-set deficit to overcome Alex Michelsen. ESPN tennis analyst John McEnroe noted that while both players excel in high-pressure situations, he sees a slight advantage for Shelton if both compete at their peak. No American player has captured the U.S. Open title since Andy Roddick in 2003.
