Benedictine player faces discipline after handshake line altercation

A Benedictine football player is facing disciplinary action following a postgame fight in the handshake line after a 58-21 loss to Toombs County on August 21. A video circulating on social media shows Benedictine's No. 65 stomping on Toombs County's Alex Scott's ankle. Both teams' coaches intervened to stop the altercation. Benedictine athletic director Jack Holland stated the incident does not reflect the school's values and will be handled appropriately. The player, a starter on the offensive line, may also face repercussions from the Georgia High School Association. Benedictine is scheduled to host Hebron Christian on August 28.
