Bengals add Blake Freeland to practice squad for offensive tackle depth

The Cincinnati Bengals signed offensive tackle Blake Freeland to their 16-player practice squad on Tuesday. Freeland enters the team depth chart following previous stints with the Indianapolis Colts, where he gained experience starting at both left and right tackle. The 25-year-old athlete brings NFL experience that could lead to an eventual promotion to the 53-man roster, as the Bengals look to address uncertainty at the swing tackle position. Although Freeland’s pass-blocking grade was low during the recent preseason, he demonstrated effective run-blocking skills and athletic traits during his time with Indianapolis.
