Benhard Janse van Rensburg disputes Rassie Erasmus claim of past talks

Centre Benhard Janse van Rensburg has denied claims by South Africa head coach Rassie Erasmus that the two held discussions regarding a potential Springboks call-up. Erasmus previously stated the player was interested in representing his native country before he became eligible for England. Janse van Rensburg, who qualified for England after five years of residency, stated he was unaware of any such contact and only learned of the claim through his father. The 29-year-old made his international debut this summer, scoring a try against Fiji in July, and has since appeared for England against Argentina. His inclusion in the squad has faced criticism from former England players, including Danny Care, Jeremy Guscott, and Mike Tindall, who have questioned the selection process for the national team.
