Big Cat competes for Akron's honorary offensive coordinator role

Dan “Big Cat” Katz, a Barstool Sports personality, is one of ten finalists in Akron's 'Offensive Coordinator of the Game' promotion. The contest allows a season ticket holder to assist in scripting Akron's opening drive against Robert Morris in the home opener on September 12. The finalists were chosen through a random drawing conducted by the university's accounting school. Despite skepticism from some fans about the fairness of the selection process, Akron has seen increased fan engagement, breaking previous ticket sales records. A winner will be drawn on August 19, after which they will meet with head coach Joe Moorhead to collaborate on the game plan.
