Bijan Robinson sets new RB market with record extension from Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons signed Bijan Robinson to a three-year extension worth up to $75 million on August 4, 2026. The base value of the deal is $66.75 million, averaging $22.25 million per season, surpassing Saquon Barkley's previous record. The contract comes as the market for running backs is rapidly evolving, following the $46 million extension signed by James Cook of the Buffalo Bills in 2025. Cook's contract, once viewed as overpaying, is now perceived as a bargain as the market for elite running backs continues to grow. This trend reflects a changing sentiment in the NFL regarding the value of top-tier running backs who can impact the game significantly.
